Wallpaper Glue

Lumberjack News's avatarLumber Jack News

Hello all,

I have been googling for hours about how to get this stupid wallpaper glue off my walls. The problem is that people are giving recommendations for glue that was put on in the 70s. Mine was put on in 2002 and the glue is extremely sticky and hasn’t dried in the last few days. I’ve tried soap and water and I just started scrubbing it with goof off and a toothbrush. It’s not working. How the fuck doesn’t God awful Satan chemical not take this glue off?

All I have accomplished is turning my house into the smell of a nail polish remover factory and giving myself a killer headache.

I’m losing my mind (probably from the murdering of my braincells). Any suggestions?

Grout vs. Caulk

Grout is a masonry product that comes as a dry powder in a bag. It requires mixing with water to activate its adhesive properties, which become rock-hard when the grout cures. Caulk is a flexible, semi-liquid product made from latex, silicone, or acrylic that is packaged in tubes. Unlike grout, caulk retains a measure of flexibility after it cures, allowing it to stretch slightly if any movement, such as the house settling, occurs.

Steam can penetrate the small cracks and fissures on the surface of the limestone.
This does clean the limestone, but will also embed water into the surface.
Repeated cleaning using a steam cleaner can activate salts and weaken the stone over time. This can also lead to spalling or fragmentation of the surface.

home renovationWhether you’re looking to re-do the floor in one room or undergoing major home renovations, choosing the right type of flooring can be a difficult choice.

So, where do you even start? There are dozens of types of flooring — and subgroups within those — so the possibilities may seem endless. Before you make a decision, let’s go through some pros and cons of the more common options.

Is Your Bathroom Fan Venting Properly?

air ventilation\, bathroom renovation, home renovation

homebuildingpro's avatarHome Builders Pro

Ventilation is an important factor for our health. Removing unpleasant smells, smoke and steam is a necessity for our comfort and reduces the risk of respiratory diseases and allergies.

Condensation control (which occurs at a humidity above 75%) contributes to limiting the process of humidification and aging of the premises and preventing the formation of mold. To help against this, it may be a timer or hydrostatic system including the fan at humidity over 70%.

Moisture, mold on the walls, difficult breathing, soot content, unpleasant odors – these are clear signs of lack or insufficient ventilation in the premises. This can cause allergy, asthma or respiratory and circulatory disorders.

A properly built and efficient ventilation system delivers fresh air while removing used and stagnant air from the premises.
